Ghesquiere was a triple-threat back who led the nation in rushing in 1940 with a total of 1,022 yards at U-D and finished 8th nationally in both team rushing and total offense. He was an All-Catholic and All-American in 1940. He was U-D’s leading scorer in both 1938 and 1940 and the achievements of his yards gained matched those of Michigan’s Tom Harmon.
