Dominant teams usually are led by their defenses and the Titans had the right leader to set them to historic heights in Allison Epple. She was a four-time First Team All-Horizon League selection as a defender, helping the team reach three Horizon League Championships and winning it all as a junior. She was twice selected Horizon League All-Tournament and was the conference tournament MVP in 2004, leading the team to the NCAA Tournament and a first-round victory over Michigan. She tallied 32 points on 14 goals and four assists in her career, including scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over Milwaukee in the 2004 HL title game and scored the first goal over U-M in the NCAA Tournament. She ended her career receiving both HL All-Academic and CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team honors as a senior.
