Lauer was one of the best runners in Titan history and was selected as an All-Western fullback in 1921. He led U-D in scoring in 1919, 1920, and 1921 including 14 touchdowns and 97 points in 1919. He scored a total of 42 TD’s and 262 points, both all-time UD records, in just 28 games.
