He was voted All-Midwestern Collegiate Conference in his final two seasons as a Titan after the team joined its new league. He became a member of the Titans’ 1,000 Point Club as a senior and graduated with 1,410 career points. He was a two-time winner of the Bob Calihan Award as his team’s Most Valuable Player. Kopicki was ranked 26th nationally in rebounding as a senior (10.5 per game) while also averaging 18.6 points. He finished his career among the top 10 rebounders in Titan history and still holds the 10th position on the all time list. He was drafted in the third round by the Atlanta Hawks in 1982 and played three seasons in the NBA, two with Washington and the last with Denver.
