Duerod was best known for his long-range, high-arching jumpers. He is the sixth ranked all-time scorer in Titan basketball with 1,690 points. In 111 career games, he averaged 15.2 points per game and is among top ten career leaders in field goals (third with 790) and field goal attempts (fourth with 1,542). In 1979, his 303 field goals are the most in one season by a Titan and his scoring average of 23.3 per game is the eighth best mark. He scored 47 points in a single game (2/10/79 vs. CCNY), the second best single game performance of any Titan. He received All-America honors in 1979 and led the team to a 91-22 record, including two appearances in the NCAA Tournament and one in the NIT. He has the most wins of any player in Titan history. He went on to be drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1979 and played professionally with Detroit, Dallas, Boston, and Golden State. He won an NBA Championship with Boston in 1981.
