DETROIT -- It was a day full of competition and excitement as the Detroit men's lacrosse team held its annual Alumni Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday.
“It was a great day,” said head coach Matt Holtz. “It is always great for the alums to come back and get a chance to put on the gear again.”
Four alums of the young program came back and all played in the game in
Kevin Demorest,
Tim Shoemaker, Michael Schumacher and Riley Turchetti.
As for the contest itself, it was a chance for the team to take to the field in a game-like atmosphere and show where it is after a few weeks of fall practice. The White team would go on to win 6-3, with big games turned in by sophomore
Alex Maini (three goals) and former attackman and assistant coach Demorest (three goals).
The Titans will continue their training as they get ready for their lone fall action of the season when they play Denison and Lake Erie at Denison on Oct. 22.
