EDISON, NJ -- Fresh off their school record breaking performances, sophomore
Jordan Houtby (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross Secondary) and freshman
Shayne Adams (St. Catharines, ON/Denis Morris) were named the Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week, announced the MAAC office on Tuesday.
Houtby continued to dominate on the defensive side of the ball tying his own school record for the third time with six caused turnovers, while breaking the Titan mark for ground balls scooping up 11 in a 19-3 victory over Mercer. Houtby also added his second collegiate point with an assist. On the year, the Titan LSM has 36 GB's and 19 caused turnovers, and ranks fifth in the country with 3.8 caused turnovers per game and 11th in ground balls at 7.2 per game.

He attempted just 11 shots to post his seven markers and was able to net at least one goal in every quarter. Adams tops Detroit with 13 goals and ranks 24th in the nation averaging 2.6 goals per game.
Freshman goalie Rich Akapnitis of Manhattan rounded out the weekly awards as he was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.
