Final Match Results

FLOSSMOOR, Ill.-- The Detroit Titans women's tennis team blanked host Valparaiso, 7-0 Saturday afternoon in Horizon League play.  Five of the six singles matches were in straight-set fashion and all three doubles matches were easily handled as Detroit earned the win.

Carolina Salas Espinosa and Amanda Cornwell bested the top Valpo pair in doubles action, 8-0.  The Titans also had 8-1 and 8-2 wins to take the doubles team point.

In singles play, Salas blanked her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1.  Cornwell (No. 2) and Erin Weldon (No. 6) each surrendered just one game in their respective victories.  Raina Halabi rallied from a opening set defeat to grab the win 3-6, 6-1, 10-1 at No. 4 singles to complete the shutout.

Detroit will travel to the Windy City Saturday to take on UIC.  Match time is set for 11:00 a.m. Eastern.
