Detroit (2-8, 1-1 MAAC) is coming off a tough 10-8 loss at Jacksonville, a game that it led 8-6 late in the third quarter before the Dolphins rallied for the win. The Titans still rank among the leaders in the nation in caused turnovers at 11.8 per game, trailing only Yale in that category (12.33). They are also 19th in ground balls (31.4) and man-up offense (36%) and 24th in man-down defense (71%).

Siena (7-2, 1-0 MAAC) has won six in a row coming into the game, including a 9-8 decision on the road at Providence last week. The Saints currently own the second longest home winning streak in the country at 13 games, tied with Hofstra, and behind only Duke's 14-straight victories. Siena has won the MAAC three of the last four years and was tabbed the favorite in the preseason coaches poll. Bryan Neufeld leads the team in scoring with 21 goals and 30 points. His 21 markers is second in the conference to Detroit's Shayne Adams (25).

The game might come down to whose strength can win out. Detroit is fourth in the MAAC in scoring (8.80) and third in the conference in goals allowed (10.26), while Siena is second in goals scored (9.67) and tops the league in goals against average (9.11).

Detroit also leads the MAAC in man-up scoring opportunities netting 20 goals in 55 attempts for a .364 conversion rate, while Siena is first in the league in penalty killing at 85 percent. On the flip side, the Saints are third in the MAAC with the extra man scoring on eight of its 32 chances for 25 percent, while the Titans are second in the league in man-down defense (71%).

This is the second career meeting between the two schools as the Saints edged UDM at home last season, 9-8. Detroit led 6-4 in that contest with under six minutes left in the third quarter and 7-6 with 10 minutes to go in the fourth before the home Siena squad was able to pull out the win.
