DETROIT-- The 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise will engulf the Detroit area on Saturday, August 20 and Titan Athletics will be right in the middle of the action. You are invited to stop by the “Detroit Titan Experience” at 32470 Woodward Avenue (east side of Woodward between 13 and 14 Mile Road). In a collaborative effort with National Pastime Sports, Detroit Titan Athletics will provide fans with an interactive setup where you can test your sports skills, hang out with Titan coaches and student-athletes-- past and present-- and take in the sights and sounds of one of Southeast Michigan's most well-known events.
Fans and cruisers will be able to pick up giveaways throughout the event courtesy of Titan Athletics and Powerade. Come see Tommy Titan and mingle with the Titan cheer and dance teams. Visitors will also have the opportunity to win great raffle prizes including the Grand Prize of a pair of tickets to the Dick Vitale Court Dedication Game and Event and two tickets to the VIP reception with Dick Vitale!
Titan Club Members are welcome into a VIP area for complimentary food and drinks.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10AM Women's Soccer – kick a ball around and learn footwork from the Detroit Titan Women's Soccer team
11AM Women's Lacrosse – meet and greet with the team
12PM Detroit Titan Softball players – play catch and take in fielding advice from the Titan Softball team members
2PM Men's Lacrosse – bring a stick and enjoy a lesson on technique from Coach Matt Holtz and players
Strength and Conditioning – “Training for Fun” – learn and activate strength & conditioning skills from Joe Tofferi.
3PM Titan fencers will put on a display and demonstrate this unique sport
4PM Olympic Sports - learn from Titan tennis players, and a multitude of other student-athletes about their respective sport
Fine tune your putting stroke with tips from the Detroit Women's Golf squad
6PM Men's and Women's Basketball showcase—shoot against players and meet with coaches from both staffs. There will be special appearances from Titan greats of the past as well as current team members.
