MAAC Standings & Stats
DETROIT -- A chance to reclaim first place in the MAAC will be on stake as the Detroit men's lacrosse team will entertain first place Siena on Saturday. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m., at Titan Field.
As with ALL home games this year, the Titan parents will have a canned food drive and a money jar with all proceeds going to Campus Kitchen. All donations will take place by the stands throughout the game.
UDM is 5-5 on the year and 2-1 in the MAAC, where it is tied for second place with Marist. Siena has won five in a row and comes into the match-up at 6-3, 2-0 in the conference.
The game will feature two of the three highest scoring teams in the league as Siena averages a MAAC-best 11.56 goals per game, while Detroit is third in the conference at 10.00 per contest.
The Titans and Saints met two times last year with Detroit earning a 13-11 win on the road in the regular season, while Siena upended the red, white and blue, 12-3, in the MAAC Championship.
Siena has won two of the last three MAAC Championships (2009, 2011) and four of the last five (2007, 2009-11) regular season titles. The Saints have also won 23 of their last 24 regular season conference games with their only loss to Detroit last year.
UDM is in just its fourth year as a program and is 1-2 all-time against Siena. The Titans fell, 9-8, on the road in 2010 before ending Siena's 13-game home winning streak and its 20-game MAAC winning streak with a 13-11 triumph last season. The Saints would get revenge with the win in the title game to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
