DETROIT (8/12/2012) -- One Titan had a trip to the championship and two Titans were on teams representing the top two seeds as the Ontario Jr. A Lacrosse League (OJALL) finished up play over the weekend.
Junior
Shayne Adams was the Titan playing for a title as his top-seeded team – Six Nations Arrows – swept the first two rounds of the playoffs before being upset in the championship by the Orangeville Northmen. Six Nations had won seven straight playoff games entering the championship series.
In the playoffs, Adams – who currently holds the Titan school record with 67 goals and is third with 77 career points – scored 31 points on 19 assists and 12 goals in 12 postseason games, finishing sixth in the league in scoring in the playoffs. In the regular season playing for St. Catharines before being traded to the Six Nations, he was 14th in scoring (73 points), and tied for 10th in goals (37) and 20th in assists (36). He totaled 33 goals and 65 points – leading the team in both categories - in 16 games with St. Catharines.
Senior
Jordan Houtby was on the second-seeded Whitby Warriors, who swept their first round match before falling to Orangeville in the semifinals. The two-time MAAC LSM of the Year, is a defender in the league and he collected a pair of assists in five postseason contests. During the regular season, he was also traded from St. Catharines, where he notched four goals and five points.
While his season in the OJALL is over, Houtby and the Whitby Warriors will continue to play in the famed Minto Cup, hosted by Whitby from Aug. 18-26.
Junior
Tom Masterson was part of the fifth-seeded Kitchener-Waterloo Braves, who dropped their first-round affair. He played in all three games in that round and tallied a pair of goals and assists as well as four loose balls. In the regular season, he accounted for 56 points on 41 assists and 15 goals, tying for 12th in the league in assists.
