DETROIT (8/18/2012) -- The famous Woodward Dream Cruise featured Detroit's College Team as the University of Detroit Mercy Athletics Department set up shop in the Metro Detroit area just south of 14 mile in Royal Oak (near 13.5 mile) at 32060 Woodward to take part in a day of fun in the sun on Saturday.

Giveaways, prizes, popcorn, Powerade, and many of the UDM varsity teams were in attendance throughout the day as the sunshine provided the perfect atmosphere for one of Detroit's most popular events. National Pastime Sports partnered with UDM Athletics to create a festive atmosphere with a graphic installation that showed off the entire Titan Athletic Department.

Amongst all the classic cars that patrolled Woodward Avenue for the day, fans of all ages enjoyed learning and playing sports with Titan student-athletes and coaches. Joe Fido and Tom Herbon were both winners as they made a long-distance basketball shot and walked away with $100 in cash.

There was registration for a grand prize drawing with the prize being a pair of tickets to the Legends and Traditions Basketball Weekend. That prize included admission to the event and the highlighted special awards dinner on Sept. 21 to benefit the Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Fund. At the dinner, the 2011-12 Men's Basketball Horizon League Champions will be presented with the championship rings. That winner for that prize will be announced next week.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is t
he world's largest one-day celebration of classic car culture that attracts over one million visitors, and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles.
