A number of energetic Titan alumni and friends gathered for a reception before the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball game at Loyola of Chicago on Saturday, January 26 at Uncommon Ground Restaurant.
Alumni and fans had the chance to talk Titan basketball and meet Interim Athletic Director Jason Horn and other Titan staff, along with enjoying some great story-telling and a light brunch.
“These functions are a great way for us to see our out of town alumni and friends of the University,” shared Horn. “The Chicagoland alumni are very enthusiastic about growing the group and scheduling more gatherings when some of our sports come to town to play UIC or Loyola. It's great to see interaction between the alumni that travelled from Detroit and Chicago area residents as well as the alums that are just beginning to reconnect with the University and those who have been connected for years.”
The reception concluded as alumni rallied behind the Titans to a 75-63 win over Loyola at Gentile Arena. The next pre-game gathering in Chicagoland will be held on Saturday, March 2 before the game against UIC. For more information on the event or the bus trip
