INDIANAPOLIS (1/29/2013) -- In the latest NCAA stats, released on Monday afternoon, sophomore
Shareta Brown continues to be among the nation's leaders in scoring and field-goal percentage.
Brown will begin this week third in the nation in scoring at 23.6 ppg., behind only Jerica Coley of Florida International (24.7) and Georgetown's Sugar Rodgers (24.1). She is also third in the country in field-goal percentage hitting 60.0%, trailing Connecticut's Stefanie Dolson (60.5%) and Kelsey Bone of Texas A&M (60.1%).
UDM has two players among the top 70 in rebounding as Brown is 59th with 9.4 per night, while senior
Yar Shayok is 70th pulling down 9.2 per game.
As a team, Detroit is 14th in the country in field-goal percentage (45.3%), 29th in rebounding margin (7.4), 32nd in scoring (71.4) and 36th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.0).
The Titans are also top 100 in turnovers per game (47th – 15.0), assists per game (53rd – 15.1), scoring margin (72nd – +8.2) and three-point field goals per game (82nd – 5.8).
In the Horizon League, Brown leads the conference in scoring and field-goal percentage and is third in rebounding, 14th in free throw percentage (67.1%) and 15th in steals (1.5).
Senior
Demeisha Fambro is tied for 16th in scoring (10.8) and ninth in three-point field-goal percentage (36.4%), while Shayok is fourth in rebounding and fifth in field-goal percentage (48.2%). Freshman
Rosanna Reynolds is currently 10th in assists (3.5) and sixth with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Titans also lead their league rivals in scoring, field-goal percentage and rebounding margin and stand second in field-goal percentage defense (38.0%), rebounding (40.8) and assists, and third in scoring defense (63.2), scoring margin and assist-to-turnover ratio.
UDM will return to action on Thursday as it puts a 12-game home winning streak on the line – tied for the 12th longest in the nation – against Cleveland State.
