DETROIT (10/9/13) - CAL Club level donors along with a few select alumni and friends gathered for a special University of Detroit Mercy open men's basketball practice, followed by a "meet and greet" with Director of Athletics, Robert Vowels on Wednesday evening at Calihan Hall.
Those in attendance had the chance to also meet the 2013-14 Detroit Titans men's basketball team, following a practice and a short scrimmage, before moving upstairs for the social gathering in the Ed & Brooks Room where both Detroit head basketball coaches Ray McCallum and Autumn Rademacher delivered a brief overview of the upcoming season, followed by new AD Robert Vowels.
Vowels shared many of the accomplishments over his first 90 days in Detroit and the renewed vision as the department moves forward. The 2013 Detroit Titans media day will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Calihan Hall, followed by the Titans Tipoff on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The Titans also launched a special 21-day, 21 prizes for season ticket holders who renew their tickets for the 2013-14 men's basketball season. The Titans, Tickets and Treats program honors every season ticket holder who renews by automatically entering their name into a daily drawing to win one of 21 spectacular prizes.
The daily winners will be announced starting Friday (Oct. 11) and continue through Halloween on Tuesday (Oct. 31). The Titans will notify winners and the results will be posted on detroittitans.com, along with the Titans social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
