MAAC Release
EDISON, N.J. (2/11/2013) -- After making his collegiate debut on Saturday at #18/19 Ohio State, freshman
Ryan Callaghan already has an award under his belt as he was tabbed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, announced the conference office.
Callaghan had a team-high two assists in his first collegiate game, finishing with two points in UDM's 14-8 setback against the Buckeyes. Both of his helpers came in the second period as he fed sophomore
Mike Birney on his hat trick goal and then set up junior
Alex Maini's marker that tied the contest at 6-6 at the half.
It is the 11th time in the four-year history of the Titans in the MAAC that they have had a player earn the MAAC Rookie of the Week accolade.
Callaghan and the Titans return to action this Friday when they head to Annapolis, Md., to take on the United States Naval Academy. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., at the Navy – Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
