UDM Campus Kitchen
DETROIT (2/27/2013) – For the third-straight year, parents of the men's lacrosse team will hold a canned food drive with all donations going to UDM's Campus Kitchen at Detroit's home opener on Saturday.
Game time is set for 11:00 a.m., against Quinnipiac at Titan Field and it will be free admission to all fans for both the men's lacrosse contest and the women's basketball game at Calihan Hall that follows at 2:00 p.m.
All of those who come out to the game are encouraged to take part in the canned food drive. Last year's effort saw not only a huge quantity of canned goods donated, but also raised $480.
The Campus Kitchen at UDM is the first Campus Kitchen in the State of Michigan. The idea for it came from Sodexo Retail Manager Kari Haddrill, and Sodexo continues to provide critical, ongoing support. According to the national website, The Campus Kitchens Project is "An emerging leader in community service for students and resourceful anti-hunger programs for communities around the country”.
