DETROIT (2/27/2013) --
The Detroit men's lacrosse team will finally get to wake up in its own bed on gameday as the Titans get ready to tangle with Quinnipiac this Saturday. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m., on campus at Titan Field, with free admission to all fans.

There will be live stats for this event, but no live video. Titan fans can follow every UDM game this season through the men's lacrosse GAMEDAY CENTRAL page located on the Titans Athletic Website that will keep fans one click away from all the action. This page will feature links for live stats (audio and video when applicable) as well as links for all the latest info while also making it easy to find the Titans on social media and to purchase photos and game tickets.

For the third-straight year, parents of the men's lacrosse team will hold a canned food drive with all donations going to UDM's Campus Kitchen at Detroit's home opener.

The Titans will have just four home games in 2013, but the short history of the program has shown that UDM plays better on Titan Field. Detroit is 8-8 all-time in games played on campus, including a perfect 3-0 against MAAC opponents in 2011.

The Titans are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping an 8-5 decision at Robert Morris last week. Juniors Shayne Adams and Alex Maini netted two goals and had an assist, while senior Jordan Houtby tied his own school record for the fifth time with six caused turnovers.

Adams leads the team in goals and total points with eight and 10, respectively. He already holds the school record with 76 goals and is just seven points away from UDM's point record, held by Scott Harris at 95. Meanwhile, Houtby is currently third in the nation with 3.0 caused turnovers per game, while senior Jamie Hebden is 17th in the country in that category.

Quinnipiac started its year off with a 9-7 road win over Brown last week. The Bobcats scored five in the first and were then shut out in the second and third before scoring four times in the fourth.

QU was 3-11 last season and 2-3 in the Northeast Conference, but returns its top 12 point scorers from a year ago. Michael Sagl led Quinnipiac last year with 33 points on 16 goals and 17 assists and had two goals and a helper in the opener. Dylan Webster led the squad with 23 goals in 2012 and had two last week, while Brendan Wilbur registered a hat trick over Brown. Gill Conners made 20 saves in net for QU, while Webster was 12-of-19 in faceoffs with 10 ground balls.

Detroit is 1-2 all-time against Quinnipiac, which includes a 13-10 road victory last season. Maini had two goals and two assists in that contest, while Adams posted two markers and sophomore Scott Drummond had a goal and a helper. Damie Danseglio made his first collegiate start in that game and had seven saves in the win.

UDM and QU have met once before in Detroit with the Bobcats winning 13-8 in 2010, and that came after the very first meeting in 2009 when Detroit fell on the road, 15-4.

Following the contest, Detroit will head back on the road traveling to Bellarmine on Tuesday, Mar. 5, before opening conference play at Marist on Mar. 16.
