DETROIT (2/5/13) –The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will head on its Wisconsin swing this week, beginning at Milwaukee on Thursday, Feb. 7. The Horizon League Network will have live coverage, beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Klotsche Center. The Titans will meet Green Bay on Saturday, Feb. 9 in the Horizon League Network Game of the Week at 2:00 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
Detroit (15-8, 7-3 HL) won its third-straight game Friday night on ESPNU with an 88-77 topping of Youngstown State at Calihan Hall. The win put Detroit solely in second place in the Horizon League, only a half a game behind Valparaiso for first.
Senior forward
Nick Minnerath led the Titans with a game-high 27 points, while junior
Ray McCallum added 23 and
Jason Calliste pitched in 16.
Doug Anderson also scored in double figures with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
UDM led at the half, 42-40, before outscoring the Penguins, 46-37, in the second stanza, to improve to 11-2 at home.
The Titans ended the game shooting 47.8 percent (32-67) from the field, including 45 percent (9-20) from downtown, while Youngstown State shot 46.6 percent (27-58) overall.
SERIES WITH MILWAUKEE
This will be the 40th meeting between Detroit and Milwaukee, with the Panthers owning a 21-18 lead. Detroit won the first meeting this year 74-59 at Calihan Hall.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
Ben Boggs and Will Bogan scored 12 points apiece as first-place Valparaiso cruised to a 71-40 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Friday night at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
The Crusaders (17-6, 7-2 Horizon) used a 23-3 run over the final six minutes of the first half and the first three minutes of the second half to take control of the game.
Jordan Aaron scored 17 points to lead Milwaukee (5-18, 1-8), which shot just 27.3 percent from the field and committed 16 turnovers.

Jason Calliste average 14.0 ppg and 13.7 ppg, respectively.
Doug Anderson (11.8 ppg), along with sophomore forward Juwan Howard, Jr. (10.0 ppg) fill out the starting five. Detroit's starters are responsible for 86.2 percent of the Titans scoring, while all five rank among the top-20 in the Horizon League.
BRACKETBUSTERS SELECT SHOCKERS
The 11th annual BracketBusters, a two-day men's college basketball event pitting potential NCAA Championship hopefuls against each other Feb. 22-23, will feature 13 nationally televised games – across ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3. The NCAA hopefuls will be selected from a pool of 122 teams from 15 conferences, including the University of Detroit Mercy, which made the NCAA Tournament last year.
Detroit drew Wichita State as its BracketBusters opponent this season and will visit the Shockers on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 4:00 p.m. on ESPN/ESPN2. This will be the 20th all-time meeting between the schools, with Wichita State leading the series 12-7.
Wichita State, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, is 19-4 overall this season, including a 12-1 mark at home. The Shockers are 8-3 and in second place in the MVC heading into their Tuesday matchup at Southern Illinois. WSU is led by Cleanthony Early and Carl Hall, who average 15.0 and 12.6 points per game, respectively.
MINNERATH NAMED HL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After scoring a game-high 27 points Friday night on ESPNU Detroit senior forward
Nick Minnerath was named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3. The award is the first of Minnerath's career, and the third for the Titans this season.
Minnerath started the week by leading Detroit to a key road win at Wright State, scoring 18 points and collecting four rebounds. The senior went 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. Minnerath saved his best effort of the week for Friday, when he scored a game-high 27 points against Youngstown State.
The effort was the fourth time this season Minnerath has exceeded 20 points, and the forward is one of five Detroit starters averaging 10 or more points on the year. On the week, Minnerath was 14-of-25 from the field, including a 6-of-14 mark from three-point range.
CLOSING IN ON 1,000
Detroit junior guard
Jason Calliste is closing in on becoming the 38th player Titan history to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his career. Calliste enters Thursday's game with 946 career points and is averaging 13.7 ppg, which ranks eighth in the Horizon League.
McCALLUM NAMED COUSY AWARD FINALIST
Detroit junior guard
Ray McCallum was named a finalist for the 2013 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award. This marks the second straight year that McCallum has been named to the final 20 of the Bob Cousy Award.
The annual honor, named for Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic Bob Cousy, recognizes the top point guards in men's college basketball. Over 80 candidates have been nominated for the 2013 Bob Cousy Award.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Detroit junior
Ray McCallum currently leads the Titans in three categories this season scoring (18.6 ppg), assists (4.7 apg), and steals (1.7 spg.) and is also climbing up the career record board in all three. McCallum has 1,428 points (16th), 412 assist (8th) and 153 steals (5th) in his career. The last Titan to rank among the top-10 in all three of those categories was Rashad Phillips '01. Phillips finished his spectacular career with 2,319 points (1st), 548 assists (4th) and 190 steals (2nd). McCallum needs 174 points to reach that plateau.
ONE OF THE BEST IN THE NATION
The Titans are one of the best teams in the nation in turnover margin where they rank fourth (+5.5) overall. Detroit has forced 392 turnovers, while only committing 266 through 23 games this season. VCU (+8.1), Louisville (+7.0) and Arkansas (+6.5) are the only teams with a higher turnover ratio than the Titans.
RACKING UP SOME POINTS
As a team the Titans lead the Horizon League and rank sixth in the nation in scoring with 79.0 points per game. Detroit also leads the League in scoring margin (+9.3). The Titans average 84.0 points per game at home, compared to 72.5 per game on the road, but the defense has stayed steady only giving up 69.5 at home and 70.1 on the road.
RED, WHITE AND BLUE
The Titans have worn three different uniform colors this season and hold a winning record in two. Detroit is 10-3 in white uniforms this season, 4-3 in red and 1-2 in blue.
