Shareta Brown posted her 21st career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
UDM still has another winning streak intact as it has won 13 in a row at home, tied for the 10th longest home winning streak in the country. Detroit has not lost at home since Jan. 14, 2012, a span of 390 days.
Valparaiso has had a week to prepare for the Titans as the Crusaders are coming off a 92-84 overtime victory over Cleveland State. Valpo has still lost four of its last six games and heads into the Saturday match-up with an 8-12 record, including 3-4 in league play.
Tabitha Gerardot leads the team in scoring standing fifth in the Horizon League with 15.2 ppg., as well as fifth in rebounding with 9.0 per night. UDM's two-game homestand will conclude next Wednesday, Feb. 13, when the Titans host Wright State in its WBCA Play 4Kay Pink Game.
THE DETROIT-VALPARAISO SERIES
The Titans and Crusaders have met just 13 times despite the fact that both campuses are relatively close to each other, just 244 miles apart. UDM has won three in a row and seven of the last eight meetings and lead the all-time series, 8-5.
The teams met in 1989 and 1990 as part of a home and home and did not play each other again until Valpo joined the Horizon League in 2008.
UDM is 4-3 at home against the Crusaders and have won four in a row in the Motor City.
VERSUS THE HOOSIER STATE
Detroit has done a fine job when it comes to taking on teams from Indiana as UDM is 73-47 all-time against schools in the Hoosier State.
