DETROIT (3/27/2013) -- The University of Detroit Mercy lacrosse programs feature six Canadian players between the two teams with the men's squad having four and the women's team with two, and four of those student-athletes were among a list of Canadian Division I Impact Players in the NCAA, released by “Lacrosse – Inside the Game.”

On the men's side, senior long stick midfielder Jordan Houtby was No. 2 overall, while junior attack Shayne Adams was No. 11 of over 50 players. On the women's side, sophomore goalkeeper Lexie McCormick and junior attack Erin Campbell both made the top 15. Campbell edged out McCormick by one spot taking the No. 9 position while McCormick was No. 10.

Houtby currently leads all active NCAA players in caused turnovers with 139, and is seventh in the nation with 2.29 per game in 2013. His 246 ground balls is also tied for fourth among Division I players and his 11 career points is tied for 10th among active long pole scorers

Adams is fourth on the team with 12 points, with his 10 goals ranking second on the squad. He is the all-time leading Titan goal scorer with 78 and has 90 career points, just five away from the school record. He was also among the leaders in the NCAA in goals though the first four games, but an injury has kept him out of action the last two weeks.

Campbell holds the team lead with 23 points in 10 games this season on 15 goals and eight assists. Over her last four games, she has 11 goals and has recorded at least three markers in each of her last three games. She tied her career-high with three goals and three assists earlier this year against Campbell, a mark she also set on March 11, 2011 at Cincinnati. She now has 40 goals and 17 assists in just 30 career games after missing all of the 2012 season and parts of the 2010 and 2011 seasons due to injury.

McCormick has played in all 10 of the team's games this season making 104 total saves this year and has been among the NCAA leaders throughout the season. On Monday, she claimed the No. 1 spot in the nation for total saves and saves per game (10.3). She is also 21st in the nation in save percentage (0.466) and 76th overall in goals-against average (13.26).

“Lacrosse – Inside the Game” covers lacrosse and seeks to find everything you ever wanted to know about, find out about, or just talk about lacrosse.

The women's team will next be in action this Friday, March 29, as UDM will face Cincinnati of the BIG EAST at 7:00 p.m. The men will travel to Jacksonville on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m., tilt against the Dolphins.
