Pair of Titans Start for Kings in NBA Summer League Debut

LAS VEGAS (7/14/13) – Former University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball stars Ray McCallum and Nick Minnerath both started for the Sacramento Kings on Saturday in the teams first game of the 2013 NBA Summer League. The Titan duo combined for 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots in a 76-73 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

For McCallum, the 2013 Horizon League Player of the Year, it was just another day in the office as he controlled most of the game for the Kings finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocked shots in 30 minutes of action.

Minnerath, who was named to the All-Horizon League First Team, finished his Summer League debut with four points on 2-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, one steal and one assist in 15 minutes of action. Minnerath also had one of the top highlights on the night as he threw down a monster put-back jam off a missed layup by McCallum.

Sacramento's next game will be on Monday (July 15), as the Kings will face the Golden State Warriors at the Cox Pavilion. The game will be aired live on NBA TV at 8:30 p.m. ET.
