Men’s Lacrosse Lands 24 On MAAC Academic Honor Roll

EDISON, N.J. (7/15/2013) --
The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with 18 All-Academic Team selections this past season and today, the MAAC released its 2012-13 Academic Honor Roll with 24 Titans making the grade.

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members of the MAAC with athletes represented in all 24 sports that the conference sponsors.

Earning the MAAC Honor Roll status for the past year were: Brandon Beauregard, Mike Birney, Paul Bitetti, Ryan Callaghan, Damie Danseglio, Brandon Davenport, Troy Dennis, John Dwyer, Connor Flynn, Joe Gifford, Jordan Houtby, Joe MacLean, Tom Masterson, Nick Melucci, Chris Nemes, Chris Perry, Nick Schesnuk, Drew Schupbach, Chris Shevins, Thomas Sible, Mike Spuller, Wes Steen, Ryan Tarzia and Mike Wenderski.

Besides the 18 All-MAAC Academic Team honorees and the 24 Titans on the yearly honor roll, the Detroit squad placed 34 members on the UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll and posted a GPA over 3.0 for the season. That was combined with winning its' first-ever MAAC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
