DETROIT (7/26/2013) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team will host its annual Alumni Day on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Titan Field as alumni from all years are welcomed back to campus to celebrate the history of the women's soccer program.
"The alumni event is always something I look forward to because it is always good to see the girls come back with their families and to hear about what they have been doing since they graduated," said UDM women's soccer head coach
Mike Lupenec who is the only head coach in the history of the women's soccer program at Detroit.
The day kicks off with an alumni match against the current varsity team on Titan Field at 1:00 p.m. Following the game, there will be a cook out and family friendly activities. All women's soccer alumni are encouraged to come with their families and participate in the activities to celebrate the history of the UDM women's soccer program.
2013 will be the 21st season of women's soccer at Detroit and Lupenec has been there for all 184 victories. Coming off his third Coach of the Year recognition in 2012, Lupenec returns to try and help the Titans make a 15th career appearance in the conference semifinals and repeat as regular season conference champions.
The 2013 UDM season starts on Aug. 23 with a game at Eastern Michigan with a start time of 5:00 p.m.
