DETROIT (9/12/2013) -- Remember when Archie Tullos broke the all-time Titans scoring record with 49 points in a game or when over 11,000 fans packed the seats for a match-up against Marquette. How about when the Titan women shocked No. 10 North Carolina State or put up 115 points against city rival Wayne State.
The 2013-14 season marks the 61st year of all those great memories inside Calihan Hall and the Detroit Titans will celebrate the historic building with a countdown of 60 great moments from its first 60 years, culminating with the Detroit men and women opening up the 2013-14 campaign with a doubleheader on Nov. 11.
Starting today and for the next 60 days, a special fact, feat, picture or historical reference will be tweeted out on the official Titan twitter account
@DetroitTitans as well as posted on UDM's facebook pages (
Tommy Titan &
Detroit Titans) and instagram
#DetroitTitans.
The official hashtag for the event will be #CalihanHall and we encourage all fans to tweet at us and post on facebook their favorite memories, including pictures, stories and games as we take a trip down memory lane.
Titan Memory #1: It all starts here with the Memorial Building's - as it was known back then - first game on Dec. 2, 1952, as a young Detroit men beat Kalamazoo, 75-61.
