2015 Schedule
DETROIT (11/19/14) -- Six home games, including a visit from Ohio State in the season opener, are on the docket as the University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team announced its 2015 schedule on Wednesday.
The six home games will see three played indoors at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, while the other three – all conference games – will be held on campus at Titan Field.
The Titans will begin the season against a pair of Big Ten squads as they host Ohio State at Ultimate Soccer Arenas on Saturday, Feb. 7, before visiting Michigan the following Saturday, Feb. 14, in a game played indoors at Oosterbaan Field House.
The two other indoor home games for UDM will feature a match-up with Robert Morris on Feb. 21 and a contest against Mercer on Mar. 10.
Detroit will also head to Louisville for two games against Catholic foes as the Titans battle the BIG EAST's Marquette Golden Eagles at Bellarmine on Feb. 27 before squaring off with the host Knights on Mar. 1.
The last non-conference game of the year will see the Titans make the trip to Colorado for their second-ever meeting with the Air Force Academy, a program that won the ECAC last season and made the NCAA Tournament.
The MAAC portion of the schedule will then begin as the red, white and blue open the conference on the road at Quinnipiac on Mar. 21, while the MAAC home-opener will have Manhattan visiting the Motor City on Mar. 28.
The two other conference road games have UDM at Marist on Apr. 4 and at Siena on Apr. 18, while the remaining two home games will be lacrosse doubleheaders with the women's team as the Detroit men play Monmouth on Apr. 11 and Canisius on Senior Day on Apr. 25.
The MAAC Championship is set for May 1 (Semifinals) and May 3 (Championship) and will be hosted by the highest seeded full MAAC institution.
The Titans have over 35 letter winners back from last year's team as they made their fourth-straight appearance in the conference tournament. Led by former assistant and first-year head coach
Chris Kolon '09 (MBA), Detroit will look to reclaim the MAAC Championship and make another appearance in the NCAA Tournament in year seven of the program's history.
Individual ticket prices for the home games on campus are listed at $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Season tickets are set at $30 (does not include the Ohio State game), while individual ticket prices and multi-game ticket packages to the three indoor games will be released in the near future.
