DETROIT (6/25/2015) -- It was all smiles and excitement out on Dick Vitale Court as the University of Detroit Mercy in conjunction with the Titan Club hosted another great event in the 5th Annual Basketball Camp for Special Needs Players on Thursday, June 25.
"I don't know who had more fun, our team or the players in the camp," said head coach
Ray McCallum. "That's what we're about at the University of Detroit Mercy. It's about service, giving back and it's a lot of fun."
The Titan Club along with members of the Detroit men's and women's basketball teams volunteered and ran the camp. The Titan Club is a booster organization for the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan sponsored the event.
Over forty participants took part in the event as they were joined side-by-side with their families and friends.
Former Titan men's basketball player Bernie Fuhs served as camp director as all the volunteers on the day provided instruction and games in a fun way of enjoying the day and developing basketball skills.
The Titans would like to thank all of those that volunteered their time and all of those who attended the camp.
