Gameday Central - UIC DETROIT (2/18/2016) -- The Titans have won five of their last six and their charge up the standings will have to consist of a few more road wins as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team visits UIC on Friday, Feb. 19.

Detroit is 14-12 overall and 8-7 in Horizon League play and comes into the weekend in fifth place, just a half a game out of fourth. UDM is finishing the regular season on the road with four straight and has won three in a row away from Calihan Hall.
The Titan defense has been sharp as of late holding opponents to under 70 points in four of the last six games and Detroit has also taken care of the battle of the glass outrebounding its counterpart in six straight.
Sophomore
Paris Bass has posted four-straight 20-point games and three-straight double-doubles. Sophomore
Jaleel Hogan has been in double figures in three-straight games and senior
Carlton Brundidge is averaging 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the last three games, while shooting 57.6 percent (15-of-26) from the field.
Following the game, the red, white and blue will travel to Valparaiso to play the Crusaders on Sunday, Feb. 21, in a game that will be televised by the American Sports Network.
DETROIT VS. UICDetroit leads the all-time series, 30-15, as the Titans have won seven of the last eight games and 10 of the last 12 meetings against the Flames.
UDM has won three straight on the road in the series and is 12-9 all-time in Chicago.
ABOUT THE FLAMESUIC has been playing some of the best basketball in the Horizon League winning three of its last five and nearly winning a fourth falling at Youngstown State in double overtime its last time out. The Flames come into the game at 5-20, 3-11 in the Horizon League.
Dikembe Dixson has already established himself as one of the best scorers in the league ranking third in the HL with 19.0 ppg. He has 15 20-point games on the year - second in the conference - including 40 his last time out at YSU. He also leads the team in rebounding at 7.5 a night.
Tai Odiase is tallying 9.9 points and 5.8 rebounds to go with a conference best 3.1 blocks per game, while Lance Whitaker is averaging 5.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and a team-high 3.6 assists.
UIC is ninth in scoring offense at 67.5 points and is sixth in defense giving up 77.4.

STRONG AT HOMEDetroit finished the regular season 11-4 on Dick Vitale Court this year and winners of 14 of its last 18 home games.
On the year, Detroit is averaging 86.7 points at home and allowing 78.3, all while shooting 48.2 percent from the field.
On the road, Detroit is 3-8 this season, but has won three-straight away from Calihan Hall.
On the year, the Titans are averaging 79.6 points and giving up 87.5 on the road.
POINTS, POINTS, POINTSThe Titans are 10th in the nation - and third in the HL - in scoring at 83.7 points, behind only Oakland (87.2) and Green Bay (85.1).
The 83.7 points are the best offensive numbers since averaging 92.6 points during the 1977-78 season under coach Dick Vitale.
The Titans have also scored 90 or more points seven times, the most since scoring 90 or more seven times in the 1987-88 campaign.
OFFENSIVE ATTACKDetroit has scored at least 75 points in 20 of its 25 games, including 88 or more nine times and 90 or more on seven occasions.
UDM has also made at least 30 field goals 11 times and has posted 39 twice.
The Titans lead the HL in shooting at 46.6 percent. They have also posted 50% or higher seven times, and 47% or higher 14 times.
Detroit hit eight of its first 11 shots and finished shooting 53.1% (34-of-64) in the win over Milwaukee last weekend.
UDM also had an explosive game on offense as it scored 94 points and shot 53.8% (35-of-65) from the field at Youngstown State. That was after tallying 49.0% (24-of-49) at Cleveland State, including 52.0% in the second half. In the win over Wright State, Detroit shot 47.3% overall and 60.0% in the second half (12-of-20).
Against Oakland, UDM was at 52.4% (33-of-63) - including 58.1% (18-of-31) in the second half - while at Green Bay, the Titans were 48.7% (38-of-78), including 50% (25-of-50) in the second half and overtime.
GETTING DEFENSIVEThe Titans have held four of their last six opponents to under 70 points, including a season-low 63 points at Cleveland State, 68 to Wright State and at Northern Kentucky, and 66 against a high-scoring Milwaukee team.
Detroit also has 13 games on the year with seven or more steals, 11 with five or more blocks and seven games in which the opponent has turned it over 15 or more times.
UDM is fifth in the Horizon League with 13.50 forced turnovers per game.
WHO WILL SCORE?Detroit has had six different Titans lead the team in scoring this season.
UDM has also had seven different players net 20 or more in a contest and four or more players in double figures 18 times.
The Titans had six players in double digits in their win at Youngstown State and also did so against UM-Dearborn earlier in the year.
SO CLOSEDetroit has suffered eight of its 12 losses by single digits, including six by five points or less and three games by one possession.
In Horizon League play, UDM has dropped a one-point game at Wright State (77-76) and against Green Bay (86-85), a three-point setback at Milwaukee (83-80), a home contest against Oakland (86-82) and an overtime decision at Green Bay (115-108).
DOWN LOW POWERDetroit has been getting it done in the post outscoring opponents in the paint 14 times this season, including in five-straight games.
In its last two wins, UDM outscored Milwaukee, 46-18, and at NKU, 36-22.
The 48 points in the paint is tied for the third-highest amount on the season for Detroit behind the 58 at Green Bay and 55 at Oral Roberts.
GETTING TO THE LINEThe Titans are attacking the rim and getting a chance to score some easy points.
Detroit has visited the free throw line 437 times in HL play, connecting on 304 (69.6%), leading the Horizon League in attempts and standing second in makes in league-only games.
In the win over Wright State, Detroit was 28-of-37 (75.7%), while WSU was just 7-of-10.
Detroit was also 31-of-39 (79.5%) at the line in the win over UIC, setting a season high in made free throws.
That was after going 25-of-29 (86.2%) in the win over Youngstown State and 28-of-42 (66.7%) in the triumph over Cleveland State.
The 42 free throws were the most since attempting 43 against Stony Brook in 2013.
THE EXTRA PASSThe Titans totaled 18 assists in their win over Youngstown State on Jan. 2, tied for the second most on the season with the 18 against Central State and behind the 22 versus UM-Dearborn.
UDM is 8-2 on the season when it records more assists than its opponent.
CLEANING THE GLASSDetroit totaled a season-high 53 rebounds in the win over Youngstown State, outrebounding the Penguins by 33 (53-20).
The 53 boards were the most since grabbing 55 against Niagara in a 96-77 win in 2010.
It was the third time this season Detroit has recorded 45 or more boards as it had 52 against Central State and 45 at Oral Roberts.
UDM has also outrebounded opponents in its last five wins winning the boards against Wright State (31-21), at Cleveland State (39-27), at Youngstown State (33-31), against Milwaukee (41-35) and at NKU (42-32).
The Titans are 12-3 on the season when outrebounding their counterpart.
COUNTING 20'S Sophomore
Paris Bass just posted his fourth-straight 20-point game as he tallied a game-high 24 points at Northern Kentucky.
That came after 24 points against Milwaukee and Green Bay and 20 at Youngstown State.
The four-straight 20-point games are the most for a Titan since Brandon Cotton did it in five straight during 2005-06 season.
The 20-point streak also came after he went three-straight games not even reaching double figures with seven against Northern Kentucky and at Cleveland State and six versus Wright State.
In the last four games, he is averaging 23.0 points on 51.4 percent shooting (36-of-70) and 77.2 percent (17-of-22) at the free-throw line.
GLASS MANSophomore
Paris Bass collected a career-high 17 rebounds at Cleveland State, which was just 10 less than what the entire CSU team recorded.
His 17 rebounds were the most by a Titan since Feb. 14, 2010, when Eli Holman had 18 vs. Milwaukee.
Bass has now collected double-digit rebounds in three-straight games, four of the last five contests and six times in HL play.
In conference play, Bass is third in rebounding at 8.6 per game.
ONE BIG FISHSophomore
Paris Bass - who missed the first seven games due to a suspension for violation of team rules - has been a force on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
He is coming off his third-straight double-double and fifth of the season with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds at Northern Kentucky.
He also had a team-high 24 points and 10 rebounds against Milwaukee and 24 points and 13 boards against Green Bay.
Bass tied his career high for the third time with 28 points at Wright State, which included six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Some other great games, included 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists and six blocks at Green Bay and 20 points, eight rebounds, a career-high six assists, three blocks and a steal against Oakland.
LURKING IN THE WATERSophomore
Paris Bass returned to action in a big way against Bowling Green as the reigning HL Freshman of the Year posted a team-high 25 points, while tallying eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. In his second game, he tallied 23 points in a win over UCF.
Since he returned to the court, he has recorded double figures in 15 of his 19 contests, pulled down seven rebounds in 13 games and has had three assists or more 10 times, not to mention 10 20-point outings and five double-doubles.
His 10 20-point games is fourth in the HL, while his five double-doubles in HL games only is tied for third.
He is averaging 18.1 ppg., 7.8 rpg., and 2.3 apg., and would rank fourth in the HL in scoring, fifth in rebounding and 15th in assists if he had enough games to qualify for the overall statistics leaders.
In Horizon League only games, he is third in rebounding (8.6), fourth in scoring (18.4), fifth in blocks (1.7) and tied for fourth in steals (1.4).
#1 SHOOTING 3'SSharpshooting senior
Anton Wilson continues to make his name show up in the Titan record books.
He shot 41.8 percent from behind the arc last season, a number that ranks sixth in school history as he was 56-of-134 from long distance.
This season, he is hitting the three at 43.7 percent (73-of-167), which is second in school history (48.1% by Archie Tullos in 1987). He is also seventh in the HL and 22nd in the nation.
His 73, 3-pointers on the season is a new career high surpassing the 56 he had last year, and is the third-straight season he has made 50 treys in a season.
He enters the game tied for ninth in school history in single season 3-pointers.
Wilson is fifth in school history with 192 career 3-pointers and is also currently third in UDM history with a 41.3 three-point field goal percentage.

Chris Jenkins tallied back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in his career as he registered a team-high 20 at Milwaukee and a team-best 25 at Green Bay.
With his 20 points at Cleveland State, he now has six career 20-point games - five this year.
His career high in points is 26 against UCF earlier this season.
In the last 10 games, he is tallying 13.4 points on 37-of-75 (49.3%) from the field and 23-of-46 (50.0%) from three along with 5.2 rebounds.
DOUBLE-UP CHRISJunior
Chris Jenkins has scored in double figures 15 times already, which includes four 20-point games, a career high in points and three double-doubles.
He netted his career-high 26 points with 10 rebounds and three steals in the win over UCF and had a great week in Wisconsin with 20 points at Milwaukee and 25 at Green Bay, team highs in both games.
He has also tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds against Toledo - where he also has a career-best four blocks.
He has twice tied his career high with four steals in a game and at Oral Roberts, Jenkins had 16 points and a career-tying 13 rebounds.
On the year, the do-it-all Titan has:

He is currently third on the team and 16th in the HL in scoring (12.7), while standing second on the team and tied for 11th in the league in field-goal percentage (49.3%).

He is second on the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg., - seventh in the HL. His 73 treys top UDM and his 2.81 three-point field goals per game is second in the HL and 47th in the nation.
LONG RANGE CJJunior
Chris Jenkins set a career high with six 3-pointers at Cleveland State on Feb. 6, going 6-of-8 from distance.
He was 5-of-7 from three against Milwaukee and is now 14 for his last 24 (58.3%) from behind the arc in his last five games.
His 45.5 percent from three on the year is fifth in the HL, and he is just a few triples away from qualifying for national leaders where he would rank ninth in the nation.
JA-LETHALSophomore
Jaleel Hogan has been in double figures 16 times on the year, including the last seven games. He recently posted his second double-double of the year with 18 points and a season-tying 10 boards against Green Bay.
Back on Jan. 16, he tallied a career-high 20 points with eight rebounds against Oakland.
He had his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 boards vs. Bowling Green.
In the last seven games, Hogan is averaging 13.8 points on 65.0 percent shooting (39-of-60).
He is fourth on the team with 4.1 rebounds and fourth netting 10.7 points per game, all while shooting 58.2 percent, second in the HL.
PAINT MANWith his strength, sophomore
Jaleel Hogan is uncanny in the paint showcased by his career 59.5 (175-of-294) field-goal percentage.
On the year, he is second in the HL in field-goal percentage at 58.2 percent.
Last season, he ended the year with a blistering 62.0 field goal percentage (62-of-100), which would rank third in school history for a single season, but was 25 shot attempts shy from qualifying for that mark.
HIGH-SCORING ROOKIEFreshman
Josh McFolley has scored in double figures 11 times this year, including 16 points against Youngstown State on Feb. 6 - the most he has scored in HL play.
McFolley scored a season-high 20-points in a victory over Northeastern, 19 at Eastern Michigan and 16 in the win versus Toledo.
He handed out a season-high six assists in the win over Cleveland State and now has seven games on the year with four or more assists.
He is currently fifth on the team with 8.9 ppg. - fourth among HL rookies.
He leads all HL freshmen in three-point field goals per game (1.6) - 14th in the HL - and is second among rookies in three-point field goal percentage (36.7%).
CB'S FINAL STANDCarlton Brundidge has had a career year so far in his final season of eligibility.
He just recorded his second-straight double-digit rebounding game with 11 boards at NKU. That performance came after posting his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 12 boards against Milwaukee.
In the last three games, he is averaging averaged 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, while shooting 57.6 percent (15-of-26).
He is currently third on the team with 2.2 assists and is fifth on the team in scoring (9.2) and fifth in rebounding (4.0). He also leads the team with a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Earlier in the year, he posted a career-best 23 points at Oral Roberts - 17 in the second half - where he was a career-high 10-of-19 from the field with five boards and two assists.
He also had 12 points at Pittsburgh and totaled 10 points and a career-high nine helpers against UM-Dearborn.
EASY POINTSSenior
Anton Wilson is a career 85.4 percent shooter at the free throw line connecting on 134-of-157 career attempts.
With his 157 career attempts, he now has the qualifying mark for the school record book, where he is third in free-throw percentage.
He is also 67-of-76 (88.2%) this season to lead the Horizon League. His makes and attempts are the most ever he has registered at the charity stripe in his career.
DOUBLE 2XThe Titans had back-to-back games where two players both recorded double-doubles.
Against Milwaukee, sophomore
Paris Bass posted a game-high 24 points with 10 rebounds, while senior
Carlton Brundidge tallied 16 points and a game and career-best 12 boards.
Against Green Bay, Bass and sophomore
Jaleel Hogan each recorded a double-double as Bass tallied a team-high 24 points and 13 rebounds and Hogan registered 18 points and tied his career high with 10 boards.
The performances marked the first time Detroit has had two players in double figures since Feb. 12, 2013, when Nick Minnerath had 34 points and 12 boards and
Ray McCallum totaled 16 points and 13 rebounds in a 92-62 victory over Cleveland State.
TAKE THAT ELSEWHERESophomore
Paris Bass posted a career-high six blocks at Green Bay and has had three or more blocks in a game four times this year.
The six blocks were the most since Marc Mazur had seven against Green Bay in 2002.
AFS SIGHTINGRedshirt freshman
Aaron Foster-Smith has seen limited playing time, but has produced when called upon.
He just had his second double-digit scoring outing of the season hitting all four of his shots and finishing with 10 points at NKU.
Foster-Smith also had five points and tied his season high with six rebounds and two blocks at Eastern Michigan.
He started his career with nine points, two rebounds and two blocks against Central State and netted a season-best 22 points with six caroms versus UM-Dearborn.
