Complete Results GREEN BAY, WIS. (3/27/16) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win in Horizon League action at Green Bay on Sunday morning.
The Titans (3-5, 2-0 HL) earned the doubles point after taking two of the three matches and swept singles play to pick up the clean sweep over the Phoenix (1-11, 0-2 HL).
Anna Davydova and
Irina Slizovskaya teamed up to topple Green Bay's top doubles line, 6-2, while
Nynke Van Der Goot and
Iris Thioux cruised to a 6-0 win from the third position to secure the point and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
From there, it was all Titans as Detroit took all six singles matches.
Davydova dropped Olivia Headford from the first position, 6-4 and 6-2, before
Valeryia Kulikovskaya took the second spot, 7-5 and 6-1.
Slizovskaya cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win from the third spot, while
Viktoria Laskutova took the fifth spot 6-1, 6-3 and Thioux picked up a 7-6, 6-1 win from No. 6.
Van Der Goot completed the sweep with a hard fought 7-6, 2-6 and 10-8 win in three sets from the fourth position.
Detroit improves to 2-0 in conference action with the win. The Titans went 2-0 on the weekend, with road wins at Milwaukee and Green Bay.
UDM returns to the court for back-to-back HL games from Franklin Athletic Club next weekend. Detroit hosts Youngstown State on Saturday, April 2 at 6 p.m., before facing Cleveland State on Sunday, April 3 at 4 p.m.
