DETROIT (7/6/2016) -- From July 4-15, DetroitTitans.com will release the Top 10 Moments of 2015-16 as voted on by members of the Detroit Mercy athletic staff. Each day, a new moment will be posted on DetroitTitans.com as well as on all the Titan social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

Christa McGahuey broke the school record for home runs with 28.
On April 23, she helped Detroit Mercy take two out of three at Valparaiso – a team that would go on to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament – as she smacked career homers No. 25 and 26 to tie the record held by former Canadian Olympian Kaleigh Rafter.
Just four days later, she muscled up again for two long balls at home versus St. Bonaventure to cement herself as the all-time leader. In game one of the doubleheader, she took a 1-2 pitch to dead center field for a two-run blast as Detroit Mercy won the game 8-5. In game two, she was behind in the count again at 1-2, but she sent the next pitch over the right-center field wall for another two-run shot helping the Titans to a 5-2 victory. She also tossed seven innings in that contest allowing just four hits and striking out six batters.Â
McGahuey tallied 10 home runs as a sophomore – third in school history - and finished her career with nine apiece as a junior and senior. She is currently playing softball overseas in the Netherlands.Â
