Men’s Lacrosse Finishes Annual Run To The Fist

DETROIT (12/1/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team is entering its 10th season as a varsity program and today, the Titans finished one of their annual traditions in the run to the Joe Louis Fist this morning.

The annual tradition is in its sixth year beginning back in 2011.

"We have a lot of competitions among our offense and defense throughout the fall," said head coach Chris Kolon '09 (MBA). "This is our final real training of the semester and it is a chance for us to come together as a team, while still in competition."

The distance is approximately 9.0 miles away from campus as the team gathered at Calihan Hall before making headlines in the run to the great monument.

"This is a great city and we get so much support from everyone when they see the entire team running together. When we reach the milestone, we celebrate with another Detroit tradition, Coney Dogs."

The Titans wrapped up their preseason and will now get ready for finals week and enjoy the holiday break before coming back to campus in January and preparing for the 2018 campaign.
