  • Freshman Kyri Jackson took sixth in the pentathlon with a PR of 2,944.
  • The DMR team finished fourth with a time of 12:28.19, the sixth-fastest in the Titan record book.

STANDINGS
The host Penguins lead the way after day one with 54 points. Oakland is seven points back in second, followed closely by Milwaukee with 45 points. Wright State is fourth with 28 points, followed by Northern Kentucky with 27 and the Titans with 16. UIC has 13 points and Cleveland State is in eighth with four points.

COACH MURRAY SAYS
"It was kind of a tough day for us as we missed a couple of opportunities. We had some bright spots as we fought until the end – Ashley Bayles had her best throw in round six and Devon Sutton battled to score in the 5,000m when she wasn't feeling 100%. We just need to keep battling tomorrow and make our luck."
