DETROIT (4/17/2018) -- The Major League Lacrosse season is less than a week away and a new Titan will join the professional ranks as
Jason Weber will suit up for the Atlanta Blaze.
The organization announced 25-man roster yesterday after two weeks of training camp.
Weber will join former teammate
Mike Birney in the MLL as he is a member of the defending champion Ohio Machine. Birney, along with another pair of Titans in
Brandon Davenport and
Chris Shevins, were on the Ohio Machine squad that won the Steinfeld Trophy in 2017.
Weber – who is a volunteer undergraduate coach for the Titans – had a great career wearing the red, white and blue and left the program with a school record 690 saves, 13.02 saves per game and a 10.07 goals against average. He was second in school history with a .568 save percentage and fifth with 164 ground balls.
A three-time All-MAAC honoree, he was the league's Defensive Player of the year as a freshman. He posted 18 games with 15 or more saves, 11 with 17 or more and topped 20 twice with a school record 28 against Mercer in 2015 and 23 against Marist in 2014.
Weber has also represented Team Canada national events in the last two years.
