Prior To Detroit:
A scoring guard who signed with ACC member Florida State out of high school before enrolling in junior college…Coming off a great sophomore season at Trinity Valley (TX) Community College in which he was named third team NJCAA Division I All-American as well as first team All-Region and All-Conference…Averaged 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.2 assists last season….Also shot 48 percent from the floor while helping the Cardinals to a 23-9 record and an appearance in the NJCAA Region IV tournament semi-finals…Tabbed as the No. 5 guard and the No. 18 overall junior college player in the nation by JucoJunction.com heading into his sophomore season…Spent his freshman year at Connors State College (OK), where he averaged 14.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while helping the team to a 28-9 record and a Bi-State East Conference and the Region 2 Conference championship…The Cowboys also placed fourth at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament…Before college, Blake led LeFlore High School in Alabama to the Class 6A state championship and earned All-State first team honors during his senior season in 2007…A four-year starter, Blake led the Rattlers to a 125-16 overall record during his career and a No.14 national ranking by USA Today with a 32-3 record during his senior season… In winning the state championship, LeFlore was the No. 1 ranked 6A team in the state for the entire season and went wire-to-wire to become the state champions… He averaged 21.0 points and 6.0 assists in his final campaign earning All-State and Player of the Year honors in the City of Mobile by the Press Register…He was also a finalist and was the runner-up for Mr. Basketball honors in the state…Selected to a pair of All-Tournament teams at two different events during his senior season and was a starter in the Alabama-Mississippi All Star game...Named the National Player of the Week by USA Today after scoring a career high 41 points in only 21 minutes in the Area 4 Championship game…He also guided LeFlore to the state championship tournament semi-finals during his sophomore and junior year.
