Senior midfielder Sean Birney (Plymouth, Mich.) tallied his first career hat trick, scoring three goals in Detroit Mercy's 10-9 loss in the 2018 MAAC Championship. Birney's goals as came in the first half as the Titans held a 6-5 halftime lead. He finished his senior campaign strong, scoring goals in nine straight games, tallying 12 of his 14 on the season during that stretch.
