Detroit Mercy Athletics Fan Code of Conduct

At Detroit Mercy Athletics, we take pride in upholding a tradition of good sportsmanship and respect for all participants. To ensure a positive experience for everyone at our events, Detroit Mercy Athletics staff is dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable environment across all our facilities. To support this, our events are committed to being free from the following behaviors:
  • Inappropriate Language or Actions: No foul, obscene, abusive, or discriminatory language or behavior will be tolerated. This includes actions or comments based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, or any other protected category.
  • Intoxication and Impairment: Public intoxication or any signs of impairment will result in denial of entry or ejection from the venue.
  • Substance Use: The possession or use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and vaping, is not allowed on Detroit Mercy property.
  • Disruptive Behavior: Fighting, unruly behavior, and actions that disrupt the event or the enjoyment of others are not permitted.
  • Unauthorized Sales: Selling items, including tickets, on Detroit Mercy grounds without proper authorization is prohibited.
  • Interference with the Event: Throwing objects onto the field/court, entering the playing surface, or otherwise interfering with the progress of the event is not allowed.
  • Compliance with Instructions: All guests must follow the rules and instructions provided by Detroit Mercy Athletics staff and event personnel.
  • Seating and Attire: Guests should sit in their designated ticketed seat. Clothing or signs with indecent or obscene messages are not permitted.
  • Property and Safety: Any behavior that damages property or endangers the safety of participants or spectators is prohibited.
All patrons are expected to adhere to NCAA, Detroit Mercy, and affiliated league policies. Failure to follow the Detroit Mercy Athletics Fan Code of Conduct may result in ejection from the event without a refund. Ticket holders are responsible for their own conduct and the conduct of their guests or individuals occupying their seats.

If you observe any behavior that does not comply with this code, please notify Detroit Mercy Athletics staff or event security immediately. For game day issues or to report concerns, contact the Detroit Mercy Public Safety Office at (313)-993-1234.
