Senior hurler Ashley Mauser (Shelby Township, Mich.) recorded back-to-back complete game shutouts over the weekend as Detroit Mercy earned a series victory over previously unbeaten Horizon League foe Youngstown State. Mauser, who leads the Horizon League in ERA (2.35), strikeouts (140) and wins (nine) following the weekend, scattered two hits across seven innings, striking out seven in a 5-0 win Friday. She then struck out nine batters in seven innings in a 2-0 victory Saturday over the Penguins from Buysse Ballpark.
