Senior track and field standout Ben Kendell (Huntington Woods, Mich.) placed ninth in the 5,000 meters at the Drake Relays, held in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. Kendell, who ran a time of 14:15.56, just missed his career mark by eight seconds in the event. He was the seventh-best collegiate runner in the race. In his final season of track and field, Kendell has already qualified for the NCAA Preliminary Round in the 10,000 meters.
