Freshman guard Markyia McCormick (Pickerington, Ohio) led Detroit Mercy in scoring this past week, averaging 12.0 points per game last week as the Titans finished 1-1 on the road. McCormick scored a team-high 18 points in a 70-62 victory Thursday at UIC. She scored 12 points in a pivotal second quarter that saw the Titans take the lead for good. She made 9-of-10 free throws in the pair of games last week and ranks second on the team in scoring at 8.6 points per game, which is third among all Horizon League freshmen.
