DeShawndre Black (Westland, Mich.) turned in a great week for the Detroit Mercy men's basketball team, playing 72 minutes and making his first career start vs. Manhattan. He had a 10-to-1 assist to turnover ratio and scored 23 points in two games, averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds and shooting 50.0 percent from the floor. Black also shot 3-for-5 from 3-point range.
