Junior Ben Kendell (Huntington Woods, Mich.) lowered his school-record in the 5,000 meters on Friday, winning the race at the Big Meet at GVSU with a time of 4:10.10 and topping more than 180 other competitors in the race. The mark is the fastest in the Horizon League by nearly 30 seconds during the current indoor season. The time is the fastest indoor 5,000m in the Horizon League in five years since Butler's Callum Hawkins recorded a time of 14:03.37 at the Husky Classic in February 2012.
