Sophomore shortstop Courtney Gilbert (Delhi, Ont. / Delhi District Secondary) hit .455 (5-for-11) last week as the Titan softball team opened conference play with a road series win over Wright State. Gilbert went 3-for-4 with the game-winning RBI double in Detroit Mercy's 1-0 win over WSU in the opener on Saturday. She had hits in all three games, totaling two doubles and three RBI. On the season, she leads the squad with a .348 batting average, 24 hits and 13 RBI.
