2008 Greater Louisville Classic Results
For the third time this year, sophomore Kristie Ferrans (Carleton, MI/Monroe) was the top Titan finisher as the Detroit women's cross country team placed 27th at the Greater Louisville Classic, a 5k race held at E.P. Sawyer Park.
Ferrans finished in 123rd place with a career-best time of 19:26. The run was also 1:55 better then her time at last year's race.
"Kristie has done a tremendous job," said head coach Guy Murray. "It is great to have her healthy and focusing on becoming the best runner she can be."
Senior Jennifer DeFauw (Harper Woods, MI/GP North) took 139th with a run of 19:40, while freshman Stephanie Rossman (Caledonia, MI/Caledonia) surpassed her best performance for the third-straight race with a time of 19:56, good for 164th place.
"A tremendous run for Jen," said Murray. "Stephanie has really adjusted to collegiate running and just gets better every week."
Detroit will now get ready for the Michigan Intercollegiate, hosted by UDM and Wayne State, set for Friday, Oct. 10, at Kensington Metropark in Milford.
