Titans Fall 4-0 To Green Bay

Box Score

The men's soccer team wrapped up the weekend with a 4-0 loss to Green Bay on Sunday. The Titans are now 2-2 in Horizon League play.

JC Banks was the difference maker in the game as the senior for Green Bay (5-4-1, 1-2 HL) recorded a hat trick against Detroit (3-6-1), with one goal late in the first half and two others early in the second.

After a highly competitive forty minutes, Banks gave Green Bay a 1-0 advantage with a goal off a rebound. The Phoenix then tallied two more goals in the first seven minutes of play in the second half.

Detroit's best shot to get on the scoreboard came midway through the first half. Junior Sam Seppo (Port Huron, MI/Port Huron) moved through the Green Bay backline and fired a shot to the far side of the goal. The ball bounced off the post to keep the game even at 0-0.

The Titans used two goalkeepers on Sunday as freshman Anthony Shepherd (Rochester, MI/Stoney Creek) got the start, playing for 63 minutes before being replaced by sophomore Martin Robertson (Newmarket, ON/St. Andrew's). Shepherd made four saves, while Robertson recorded one.

UDM will step away from conference play on Wednesday as the Titans travel to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
