More than 70 high schoolers were at Calihan Hall on Wednesday as the UDM men's basketball program opened up its summer camp season by hosting an Elite Camp which featured some of the Midwest's top players.
“We kicked off the camp season in a big way here at Detroit,” Titans head coach Ray McCallum said. “I'm excited about the caliber of talent and the level of excitement that was on display. The camp was a great opportunity for these kids to play in front of college coaches and receive in-depth instruction on how to improve their overall games as well as get a better understanding of NCAA rules.”
The camp featured not only students from the Detroit area, but all over the state of Michigan.
McCallum's coaching staff was on hand, putting the players through intense individual workouts as well as team drills. During the four-hour camp, the students were also advised on NCAA rules and regulations regarding being recruited to play college basketball as well as a session dedicated to nutrition and strength and conditioning.
UDM will also two Team Shootout Camps later this month. Click here for more information.
