Despite rainfall throughout most of the match the 2010 Detroit Titan men's soccer team hosted a large group of alumni players this afternoon at Titan Field.

Nearly 30 former Titans stood on the sideline for today's match. Some of the best players in the history of the program came out to support the event such as Jason Massoglia, Marcel Flemming, Ablaye Camara, and Kal Kaliszewski who started in goal for the alumni team. After the game former players gathered to share memories as the Titans hosted a barbeque for everyone that was able to attend.

After at 0-0 tie at halftime, the game really picked up in the second half. Otieno Victor scored the game's first goal off a penalty kick with 37 minutes remaining. Victor gave the Titans a 1-0 lead by beating the goalkeeper with a shot in the lower left corner of the net.

The alumni team fought back and tied the game with just over 15 minutes remaining. Assistant coach Ablaye Camara recorded a great assist to Scottie Wright who evened the game at 1-1 with a goal from the right side of the field.

“It was great coming back to see some of the guys that I played with and talk about the great memories that we share,” Wright explained. “It was a great experience for everybody, and I hope we can continue to come out here year after year.”

With time running low it was Camara again who put the finishing touches on the game. Camara got past some Titan defenders and scored the game-winning goal for the alumni team.

The 2010 men's soccer team will host Schoolcraft on Tuesday, August 24th for their first of two exhibition games. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
