The Titans looked sharp in their final exhibition game of the year with a 2-0 victory over the IUPUI Jaguars on Saturday at Titan Field.
Detroit scored one goal in the first half to take the lead, and added another goal in the second half to pick up the victory. The team will now enter the regular season on Wednesday, Sept. 1st at Michigan.
Newcomer
Ya Ya Toure (Ypsilanti, MI/Willow Run) scored the first goal of the game for Detroit. Toure received a pass from
Adam Philp (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's Catholic) and dribbled down the left side of the field before firing a shot past the Jaguar keeper to give UDM the early lead.
Sam Seppo (Port Huron, MI/Port Huron) was credited with the second goal for UDM. Seppo was in the right place at the right time as he played the ball off the crossbar to give Detroit the 2-0 victory.
Nate Robinson (Novi, MI/Novi) started the play with a shot that drilled the crossbar which allowed Seppo to score off the rebound.
The upcoming schedule for the Titans features four road games. The season opener is at Michigan, followed by a trip to Cincinnati to face the Bearcats on Sept. 5th. UDM will then travel to Greenville, S.C. to play in the Spinx/Diadora Classic Tournament with match-ups against Furman and the College of Charleston.
