The Titans lost a tough game on Friday night by the final score of 4-3 against Furman in the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational. Detroit held a 2-0 advantage early in the first half, but Furman came back to score the game winner in double overtime.
Vorbe Fabien had a big night against Detroit (0-2-1). Fabien scored his second goal of the year to cut the Titan lead to 2-1, and he eventually scored the game winner at the 105:25 mark in double overtime to help his team record the victory.

Ya Ya Toure (Ypsilanti, MI/Willow Run) played well for UDM recording a goal, his second goal of the season, and an assist. He scored the first goal of the game for Detroit just over eight minutes into the match. Junior

Ken Simon (Brighton, MI/Brighton) each picked up an assist on the goal.
Moustafa Bazzi (Dearborn, MI/American Muslim Academy) scored his first goal of the year to increase the Titan lead to 2-0. The sophomore was able to find the back of the net off a throw in by freshman
Adam Bedell (Livonia, MI/Churchill).
Fabien put Furman (2-1-0) on the scoreboard nearly two minutes after the Bazzi goal. The game was tied shortly after as Caleb Suri scored on a penalty kick to tie the game. The play resulted in Simon receiving a red card, forcing the Titans to play the rest of the game a man down.
Despite playing with 10 players, the Titans fought on to regain the lead. Junior
Otieno Victor (Kisumu Nyanza Kenya/Kakamega) put Detroit in front as he used the back of his heel to connect on the skill shot that beat the keeper from six yards out. Toure was credited with the assist.
Furman fought back to once again even the affair in the 67th minute of action. Michael Gandier connected on his second goal of the year off an assist from Suri. With the score knotted at 3-3 after 90 minutes, the game was pushed into overtime and eventually a second overtime before the Paladins came away with the win.
Detroit will have tomorrow off and return to action with a match against the College of Charleston on Sunday at noon.
