A goal early in the second half gave Loyola a 1-0 victory against the Titans on Friday night. Detroit will end the weekend road trip with a match against UIC on Sunday.

James Howe scored his first goal of the season in the 46th minute of play to give the Ramblers the win. Howe drilled a shot in the bottom left corner of the net to give Loyola their first win of the season. Both the Titans and the Ramblers are 1-5-1 on the year.

Both teams got off to good starts in the first half. The Titans had a good chance to score early in the game when Otieno Victor (Kisumu Nyanza, Kenya) dribbled down the near side of the field. Victor beat his defender, and when help came he hit Pat Lepera (Windsor, ON) with a pass in the middle of the field. Lepera fired a shot at the keeper, but Peter McKeown made the save for Loyola.

Brandon Waterstradt (Dearborn Heights, MI) had a nice game as the goalkeeper for Detroit. Waterstradt saw lots of action in the second half.  He ended the game with six saves.
